We’ll see, concerts and cross-country travel are things that not all college arts students can afford T_T But I’ve been scowering the internet for fancams and photos so I’m sharing what I’ve found with you!

Jang Dong Gun in Hollywood
Posted in Hollywood, Movies with tags Jang Dong Gun, Korea on November 2, 2007 by illdielaughingLeaving Chungmuro behind Jang Dong Gun is set to start in the Hollywood film Laundry Warrior. Already the movie sounds…questionable. I hope they change the title from Laundry Warrior to something else because it sounds so ridiculous. It’s supposed to be an action/fantasy movie, a joint Korea/US production and directed be Lee Seung Moo.
Thankfully, Geoffrey Rush is supposed to be in the movie and he is a great actor. He usually picks good project to do. (Ignore The Banger Sisters and the last two installements of PotC) Kate Bosworth is also in the movie but since her break out role was the stagnant Blue Crush and her last movie before Superman Returns was Win a Date with Tad Hamilton I don’t relaly trust her project picking skills.
But Jang Dong Gun and Geoffrey Rush, what a great combination.
The plot, from what I’ve gathered:
Jang Dong Gun is a great swordsman who escapes to the US after having taken a baby that he was supposed to kill. He wants to have a normal life as the owner of a laundrymat. UNfortunately a femal assassin comes after him and is supposed to kill both him and the baby but she ends up falling in love with him. Zhang Ziyi was supposed to play this part. No word on who has replaced her. Kate Bosworth plays a very bad knife thrower.

STORY LINE: Yang, the World’s Greatest Swordsman, leaves his clan and flees Asia with baby April, the last of the enemy bloodline. Hoping to make a new life for himself as a humble laundryman in America’s Wild West, he comes to know and care about the people of Lode, a small, forgotten town filled with carnival players. While there, Yang finds a pupil/lover in Lin, (a beautiful Asian girl), but also makes new enemies with the Hell Riders, a marauding gang of vicious thugs. Reluctant to stand forward and defend the town, because it will mean revealing his identity, Yang is soon forced to pick up his sword and lead the “carnies” and townsfolk in to an incredible battle against the loathsome Hell Riders. At the pitched height of that battle, Yang’s past, the Asian sword clan he left behind, (”The Sad Flutes”), attack raising the battle to an epic crescendo…
It’s a bit of Ancient Korea witht he Old West.
We’ll most likely see a trailer next year in the spring probably. They just started filming and the movie is set to be released in the winter of 2008.
