The Dark Knight

Don’t worry, no spoilers.

I don’t want to amp up the movie too much because that happened to me but I’ll just say that I was really happy with this film. I loved Heath Ledger, I know that his part has been overly glorified because of his death but he transformed the role of the joker. He didn’t do a caricature like Jim Carrey and he hit so many more notes of sheer insanity than Jack Nicholson. He was great. Really great.
Surprisingly I loved Aaron Eckhart as Harvey Dent turned 2-face. His storyline really got to me because Aaron did such a great job portraying Harvey Dent as a really likeable guy, a really good person and it sucks because we all know what he’ll turn into and that there’s no turning back. Final Fantasy XIII

I am a geek when it comes to video games. I haven’t played any in the past few months (college). But back in the good ole days of middle school and high school when I had alot more free time, I was a Final Fantasy GEEK (I’ve never finished any of the games though haha). I own Final Fantasy VII, X, X-2 and XII and now that there is a thirteenth I will certainly get that. The only sucky part is that it’s being released on the the ridiculously expensive platform, PS3 and not PS2. I’m a Playstation groupie and I would love to buy PS3. But seriously, 400 dollars… I can buy SO much food that…

 The lead character is a woman (W0ot Wo0t!) and the character designer, Tetsuya Nomura, was told to create a femal version of Cloud from Final Fantasy VII. And because Cloud kicks asss she will be awesome. So being the female Cloud, her name is Lightning (she’s forgotten her real name due to amnesia) and she looks as if she can kick ass, just from this one picture. The only other character revealed is a mysterious guy that is only known by his shoe size, which is 33cm (Which I believe is a US 12 or 13). He and the main character have a “unique” relationship.

Xiah Junsu’s voice is “Timeless”

This song came out like a year ago but I just fully listened to it. Damn, what a nice song. I promise I’ll try to actually post about things more up to date but this song gave me the chills (in a good way). Anyway, it’s a remake of the American song, Timeless. The original came out during the first season of American Idol and was sung by Justin Garini and Kelly Clarkson. The song was also in the movie, “From Justin to Kelly” and since no one saw that movie not alot of people heard the song.

I am just so in love with the Zhang Ri In and Xiah Junsu duet, Timeless. If you haven’t heard it, here’s your chance. The song is beautiful in everyway, both singers are so amazing and they go so well together. The song reminds me of something Christina Aguilera would sing. There are so many versions of the song. There’s the original and then the Korean version and Chinese version sung by Xiah Junsu and Zhang Ri In.’

Hard Boiled is the best movie EVER

Maybe ever is an overestimation. but thishard_boiled.jpg movie is so damn good.

You haven’t seen it, you must.
It stars Chow Yun Fat and Tony Leung, both of whom I love. Chow Yun Fat is a cop named Tequila (I have absolutely NO idea why) who gets involved in a case after his partner gets killed. Tony Leung is an undercover cop named, well, Tony that’s involved in the case as a member of the Triads. (Infernal Affairs anyone?) This movie is already famous because it has director John Woo and the action is AMAZING. So, go to the closest video store a pic it up. You won’t regret it.

Tablo goes Solo/Epik High’s MV Fan

Tablo, from one of my favorit groups Epik High is coming out with a solo album in late fall. He says that he is “preparing a smaller and quainter collection that will be filled with music that is neither hip-hop or underground but distinctley Tablo-esque.” does Tablo-esque mean ridiculously cute? I know that it does mean awesome rhymes and amazing beats etc. I’m excited. I recently heard Epik High’s song “Fan” and am in love.

Since alot of peoples reaction to the video is “What the hell is going on in Epik High’s Fan video?” I will try to clear it up.

Basically, this crazy girl kidnapps a guy she is a huge fan of. The throws him in a room, chains him to a bed and watches him. At one point he smell so, being a crazy girl, she puts him in the washing machine, almost drowning him. Through out the video she is building a rocket. To take him to the stars maybe? She start building it after he freaks out on her so that might be why? Anyway, he tries ot kill himself, she stops him. she smokes him out of the room and attached him to the rocket and ends up killing him. So messed up, so awesome, so smart. That is why I love Epik High. The are awesome and smart. And Tablo going solo is going to be great.

Alex of Clazziquai and Yoo Gun of…hotness

Alex from Clazziquai…He has the sexiest voice ever. So deep…So soothing… I had to dedicate a post to him because of this and because of this video.


It’s Alex on the Korean Variety Show Jong Shin Tong Il also known as Jihwaza. In the video, a minute or so in, Alex takes off his shirt (he has an undershirt on) because the girls ask to see his arms and then…when he gets into the water he take of the undershirt, and it’s just him, topless, wet etc

Clazziquai

Clazziquai is my favorite group right now and they have been all summer. Their songs are awesome, like She Is, Choom (which means “dance”), Fill This Night, the list could go on and on. You guys should give them a listen.

JUMP!

I was about to go to bed, since I have an 8 am class tomorrow morning but I happened to catch a commercial about a show called JUMP! Why did it catch my eye? Well, JUMP is like a play but with Tae Kwon Do, acrobatics and comedy all wrapped up into a stage production. It is basically a Korean matial arts movie on stage. It has been been playing for awhile and now has finally come to Off-Broadway. I have never heard of this show before but I am really excited to see it. If you are in the tri-state area you should check it out. JUMP is still playing in Seoul and it has performed in London, Edinburgh, Hong Kong and Tokyo.

Are You Living with the Person you Love Now?

Ji-geum Sa-lang-ha-neun Sa-lam-gwa Sal-go Iss-seub-ni-kka? or Are You Living with the Person you Love Now? is a film directed by Jeong Yoon Soo (My Girl and I) that came out about a month ago in South Korea. The film is also known as Changing Partners. I know this post may seem a little late but I love some of the actors in it. First, the sexy Lee Dong Gun of Lovers in Paris fame and Han Chae Young of Delightful Girl Choon Hyang fame. And then the older but equally hot Uhm Jung Hwa, Korea’s Madonna (currently in Get Kahrl, Oh Su Jung) and Park Yong Woo. I love all four.

In this movie Lee Dong Gun and Han Chae Young are a married couple that have lost the spark in their relationship after three years of marriage. And Uhm Jung Hwa and Park Yong Woo are another married couple that are in a pretty stable relationship. The couples meet through a mutual friend; Lee and Uhm’s characters end up in business together and Han and Park’s characters end up bumping into each other in Hong Kong. That night they find in the other what they wanted in their respective partners.
Watch the trailer if my bad synopsis didn’t convince you that this movie is going to be AWESOME.
