I kept hearing about this movie a couple of weeks ago and then when I started watching Family Outing they mentioned Kim Soo Ro’s role in the film. I became curious.

So last night I was bored and I decided to go onto crunchyroll (which has been sucking lately), and I watched Attack the Gas Station! Directed by Kim Sang Jin and written by Ko Soo Bok & Park Jeong Woo, this film was nothing I was expecting.

The movie is about four bored guys that decide to rob a gas station. The leader is No Mark, played by Lee Seong Jae (who I’m currently watching in Lawyers of Korea, I LOVE this guy’s voice), his friends are Bulldozer (Yoo Oh Seong), Ddan Ddara/Rockstar (Kang Seong Jin) and Paint, played by Yoo Ji Tae (Oldboy). They rob some random gas station one night, smashing everything they see and then they come back the next night to rob it again.

But the manager of the gas station has hid the money, claiming that his wife has it. They call the wife but she’s out. So the four guys wait for her to become available, they meander about the gas station and they put the three other gas station workers (some high school kids) into a room under the watch of Bulldozer/Mad Dog, who hates being called stupid (cue flashback). While they are waiting they realize they can make a lot of money filling up people’s tanks and taking the money for themselves. 

Throughout the night, lots of people show up that lead to the big ending showdown. First a school bully and his posse come to get money from one of the gas station workers. But No Mark and his friends kick their asses and put them up in the room with the rest of them. 

I don’t want to ruin anything but this movie is so random and that’s what makes it so funny. Sometimes I would be watching with no expression as something was happening and then realize, “oh, this is supposed to be funny” after which I would laugh. It sounds weird but that’s just the way this movie is.
