Teletubbies do “Look Only at Me” Dance

Posted in Seoul, ^_^ with tags on July 27, 2008 by illdielaughing

I was dying.

Girls in teletubbies suits doing Tae Yang’s dance moves is probably something that only occurs during a solar eclipse or on a normal night in Korea. The Wonder Girls actually had time to learn this? I guess no longer promoting So Hot gave them lots of time for everything.

So they stop promotion for So Hot and they dress up like Teletubbies for a segment of their fanmeeting?

I guess you could call that an upgrade. (By the way this is an excellent action shot.)

Tae Yang Gets Frisky at “HOT” Concert

Posted in Concert, Music, Seoul with tags , on July 25, 2008 by illdielaughing

But it’s all for entertainment’s sake.

At Tae Yang’s solo concert he got a little frisky (as usual) with dancer Shaun Evaristo’s girlfriend, Aimee. She’s been doing a lot of backup dancing for YG since Evaristo started working for them. I wonder how Evaristo feels to see his girl molesting the abs on hottie Tae Yang?

Anyway, above was Tae Yang’s performance of his solo song Ma Girl. You witness him seriously going at the floor like he knows what he’s doing. Unfortunately, we know that he does not seeing as he has never had a girlfriend. :(  With moves like that I’m sure we’d all like to be the first. I find it funny how he walks when he doesn’t have a shirt on, as if he’s constantly flexing. (More concert vids after the jump!) Read more »

Hyun Bin in Japan for Photoshoot

Posted in Tokyo with tags on July 25, 2008 by illdielaughing

Hyun Bin was in Japan for a photoshoot. What it was for I’m not sure but it doesn’t seem to be for a magazine because the shots are so unorganized. The only common thing about them is that they were all taken in Japan.

I would love to know what’s going on.

Epik High’s Umbrella MV

Posted in MV, Music, Music Video, Seoul with tags on July 24, 2008 by illdielaughing

Epik High has recently released the music video for their song Umbrella (ft. Younha)

Epik High always has interesting music videos, like the great video they had for their song Fan or their depressing video for One and the controversial, banned video for Breakdown. So I was expecting something really great and interesting. Though I think the MV’s for Breakdown and Fan were superior (the latter being the best) this video is very interesting in it’s own right. The concepts in the MV are good but some of them aren’t executed well enough. But the music video is still nice, the lyrics are beautiful, Yoonha’s voice is so great. Tablo’s uber bangs are also really great in this music video.

I love Epik High for the amount of quality music they produce and for the innovation behind what they do. No matter what it is, their music, their CD cover art, their music videos, they always do something interesting and thought provoking, very artistic. My favorite shot in this video is of Tablo being rained on in his apartment as he lays on his bed.

What do you think of Epik High’s Umbrella MV?

Won Bin’s Comeback in “Mother”

Posted in Movies, Seoul, ^_^ with tags on July 24, 2008 by illdielaughing

Won Bin has been gone forever, he went away to the military and then he schlepped about not doing much besides charity work and, well, I guess eating and sleeping I assume. But now the cutie is back with the movie Mother starring alongside Kim Hye Ja.

The only information on this movie is that Won Bin’s character tries desperately to prove his mother’s innocence. Intriguing. I’m looking forward to this. The last thing I saw Won Bin in was Guns and Talks, which was also the first thing I saw him in…

Stand Up: Big Bang’s 3rd Mini-Album

Posted in ^_^ on July 24, 2008 by illdielaughing

I come bearing gifts of track lists, translations and revelations.

Big Bang’s third mini-album is Stand Up. The song heard in the previews is Stand Up the intro to the mini-album. The debut single is 하루 하루 or One Day, One Day (or Day after Day). The track list is as follows.

1. INTRO (Stand Up)
2. 하루 하루 (Haru Haru / One Day One Day)
3. 천국 (Cheongook / Heaven)
4. 착한 사람 (Chakhan Saram / Nice Person)
5. LADY
6. OH MY FRIEND

What’s great about this album is the collaboration between Daishi Dance and Big Bang. We all remember the allegations that G-Dragon had plagiarized Babo using notes from a Daishi Dance song. Even though Daishi Dance came to G-Dragon’s defense there was still intense speculation. Well that blew over and to do something like what Eminem and Elton John did (performing together at the Grammy’s) Daishi Dance and Big Bang have worked together on some tracks on this mini-album.

(By the way, remember the whole tattoo thing with G-Dragon? Too fast to live to young to die? Well, take a look back when he was hosting Music Core with the two Wonder Girls. What does his shirt say?)

Is cross-dressing REALLY necessary for every idol group to do? I seriously thought Tae Min was a girl. Actually, until I saw the way Minho freakishly stood out I thought all of them (except the obvious disaster with the red headband) were girls. They look waaaay too comfortable. What happened to men with balls? Did we lose all of them?

And Onew… haha.

SM Entertainment and SBS’s “Untold Stories” [FAKE?]

Posted in Rant, Seoul, TV with tags , , , , on July 24, 2008 by illdielaughing

EDIT: THIS MAY OR MAY NOT BE FAKE, IF I FIND OUT FOR SURE THAT IT’S FAKE I’LL TAKE IT DOWN. SO DO NOT QUOTE ME AS A SOURCE FOR THIS NEWS.

BoA, Dong Bang Shin Ki, Kangta and Super Junior are featured in SM and SBS’s Untold Stories, a four chapter, twenty episode show.

To me this is kind of unnecessary and gluttonous. It’s like SM Entertainment decided to do an A&E autobiography on it’s artists but none of them, with exception of Kangta, has hit thirty. This is ploy for publicity and ratings and the sheer scale of these “untold stories” makes it seem rather self-important and vainglorious. If it was one group, or one artist it wouldn’t be as bad.

It’s also rather hoaky and campy, like a long Lifetime movie. The DBSK Chapters are:

Episode 1 - Yun Ho: The Country Boy
Episode 2 - Xiah Junsu: The Mountain’s Peak
Episode 3 - Micky Yoochun: The American Dream
Episode 4 - Choi Kang Chang Min: The Priceless Stairs
Episode 5 - Jae Joong: The Street Lights

For twenty of a record companies artists to simultaneously barrage us with stories that are supposed to make us feel sad, or happy or whatever, I find nearly obnoxious. But I know that for the most part these artists are going to speak honestly about where they came from and how they got to where they are so it bothers me even more to think that their memories and their pains or joys are going to exploited for profit.

Sneak Peak at Ya Shim Man Man: Season 2

Posted in Seoul, TV with tags , , , , , on July 24, 2008 by illdielaughing

If you’re like me, you really enjoy watching the funny, sometimes absurd banter on Ya Shim Man Man and you really miss the show since it’s cancellation. Season two was announced a couple of weeks ago, and for those who can’t wait here’s a sneak peak of what we’ll see, the new format, new guests and hopefully more laughs.
