The Dark Knight

Don’t worry, no spoilers.

I don’t want to amp up the movie too much because that happened to me but I’ll just say that I was really happy with this film. I loved Heath Ledger, I know that his part has been overly glorified because of his death but he transformed the role of the joker. He didn’t do a caricature like Jim Carrey and he hit so many more notes of sheer insanity than Jack Nicholson. He was great. Really great.
Surprisingly I loved Aaron Eckhart as Harvey Dent turned 2-face. His storyline really got to me because Aaron did such a great job portraying Harvey Dent as a really likeable guy, a really good person and it sucks because we all know what he’ll turn into and that there’s no turning back.

Christian Bale was, as usual, great. At first his Batman voice made me want to laugh but I got used to it.

EDISON CHEN, it was rather laughable actually, you could hardly see his face in this movie, they really cut him out because of the scandal or it could have just been that, at 2 hours and 25 minutes, the movie could do with some editing.

Effects were off the chain, Two-Face’s face was so accurate and once again I got more out of Aaron Eckhart than I expected. The motorcycle you see in the trailers is sexy as hell.

IMAX. If you can see this movie in IMAX, DO IT. I went last night, when the movie started the first shot was a moving arial towards skyscraper, there was an audible gasp when it first came on screen. I was with a really great crowd.

I went into this movie really excited and came out satisfied. Did anyone else see The Dark Knight?

So I realized the other day that I haven’t been to the movies in like……nevermind, just know it’s been awhile. :P

So I thought I should take the chance to see one (maybe movies aren’t black and white anymore? :D ) and thought about Dark Knight (especially since everyone and his grandma were touting it).

The thing is: new movies sell out q-u-i-c-k! haha….I guess I’ve been out of the loop for too long but I can’t remember having a movie sold out consecutively for days and having to wait in god-knows-how-long lines just to buy tickets and then again to get into the theater.

So needless to say, I abandoned the wait and just watched WALL-E instead (which was cute lol). I think it’s a good idea to wait a few weeks for the crowds to die down……I don’t think I can ever justify spending a whole day at a theater just to see a movie. But of course I’m wrong because a million other people apparently did. :)
