Hee Chul and Kangin….in XANADU
Xanadu is a musical adapted from the 1980 film of the same name about a muse, Clio, that leaves Mt. Olympus to inspire a man to accomplish his dream of creating a roller-disco. Can anyone recall the shame Olivia Newton John still feels from being apart of this movie? Xanadu is currently showing on Broadway and premieres in Korea this September thanks to SM Entertainment.
Of all the singers they could have picked they pick Hee Chul and Kangin? Of all the singers they could have picked in Super Junior they picked Hee Chul and Kangin? I wouldn’t find this weird if Hee Chul’s vocals weren’t lackluster and Kangin didn’t frequently call himself the comedian of Super Junior. *Sigh* This is almost as strange as Seungri being in a musical but at least he pulled that off.
What’s most interesting about this project however is that this is SM’s first musical production. If it’s anything like they’re first movie, Attack of the Pinup Boys, it will suck and flop gloriously. I think it’s kind of funny to do such a flamboyant play. The 80’s, muses and rollerdiscos? I see tight pants, I see sideburns, I am predicting some blindness or trauma on my part (Or squeals of joy, hey you never know).
I do know that I wouldn’t watch it if Kangin and Heechul were in it, because I really don’t think they’re right for a musical.

haha gudluck!!! i dont even wanna think about it!!! but wat do u know they might puul it off 2 (nah) haha..anywayz is this some kinda “u do it, ill do it 2 n’ much better” , SM’s attempt 2 prove that their artist r better than YG artist??? idk..its just come out of my mind since after Seungri’s success in musical , SM wanna try it 2!!! idk i could b wrong…anywayz thats their business so,..i wouldnt stress myself…by d way tnx 4 sharin’ ur info’s…

I think Kangin’s been in a musical before, but that doesn’t make me any less wary. lol Heechul….I don’t know, he’s decent when he puts in the effort but that’s a rare occurrence (I sound like an anti but I really do adore both of them).
For me the weirdest thing about this is they’re playing the same role. I guess they’re just putting stars in to draw a crowd. >.>

Attack on the pin up boys recovered from DVD sales, I like Suju, but yea that movie was not very good.
As for the musical, there were a few mistakes, but I think Heechul did a great job, Kangin kept up pretty well too, so congrats.

I went to watch the musical september 15th when Heechul was the lead because my friend is a fan of him and I must say I was a bit sceptic in the first. After meeting him and the cast backstage before the show and watching him perform I can only say that I was wrong^^ He did a great job both in acting and singing. I didn’t think once that I was watching super junior’s heechul. I just wacthed some guy acting Sonny. And I had never wacthed this musical before but whats so wrong about it? I thought it was good^^
