If SNSD Came Out With Tell Me, I Might Like Them More
Not only did they sing Tell Me better, but they can sing Kissing You better too. I actually almost enjoyed watching SNSD perform Tell Me. Just when I thought I might, So Hee’s part of the second hook started and this girl with ringlets started singing in this demented baby voice and then she winked at the “omana” part. I couldn’t enjoy much after that. Especially not Hyo Yeon’s dance break. I was flabbergasted, that girl can dance SO much better than those convulsions she displayed. Anyway, vocally they performed the song as well as it could have been performed. But seeing SNSD perform it kind of makes it that much more saccharine, doesn’t it? (Once again, as I watch this group perform, I can’t, for the life of me, figure out the use of having 3 or 4 extra people in the group that literally do nothing.)
Wonder Girls was, as usual, pretty mediocre and I hope that JYP realizes that “drive” does not replace talent or the ability to sing please do something with So Hee. Anyway, I actually somewhat like the Wonder Girls, but they looked absolutely absurd and slightly Harajuku Hooker-ish in their ridiculous get-ups. I’m sorry for lovers of both SNSD and Wonder Girls but… Kissing You is a song so displeasing to my ears but I can see why a human being may like it, it’s so ridiculously cute. And sorry for those who like So Hee, but everytime they showed a close-up of her singing all I could think was, Stop pretending to sing, So Hee. I also would sometimes like to know how Wonder Girls functions with their 2 dead-weights. It’s a shame that the formula for a group is one-part rapper, two-parts people who can actually sing, one-part underaged untalented Lolita with a dumpling face, and one part, wait who is that girl? (By the way, is it just me or does Ye Eun have one expression to work with. I think it’s just like *I’m happy and adorable*)
Watching this Music Bank performances just depressed me. All the cult like chanting from fans was too much to handle, I’m very steadily falling out of love with fandom. (Though I’m sure I was never really in love to begin with.)
I’m predicting backlash from this post so I’ll just say, this is merely my humble opinion. Please do not feel I’m trying to convince you that these people suck, I’m merely stating that at times I think they might.

meh, i like both groups (though wg more than snsd)… but i liked snsd’s performance better… i like their energy… and i agree with hyoyeon’s part, i got all excited when she came out but then -_-
and wg… sunye just stands out… in a good way in mostly all their performances… esp when there’s dancing involved… and sohee… she’s the only one that still hasn’t improved ><

I like sNSD’s performance, is really good (except for hyoyeon’s part).they can sing very well “Tell me”.

Yeah, SNSD has really good singers in their groups. They sang music that I liked I’d most likely like them. Well, maybe not because a few of them sincerely get on my nerves but there are some that I like now.
Wonder Girls… I completely agree about Sun Ye, she has the best voice in the group and Ye Eun has the second best, they can do much better things with their voices. But they do the kind of music they like, so as much as i criticize they are enjoying (i think) and really popular for what they do.

Well…Snsd def did have better vocals, the songs sounded much richer for it. well as rich as a song like Tell Me can sound I suppose ^_^ I think that curly haired 2nd omona singer ruined the song for me. Her voice was just really peculiar. Maybe she was doing a parody of SoHee’s actual singing voice XD?
WG wasn’t bad at all I think….They sounded nice but I swear SoHee is just TRYING to tell everyone she’s lipsyncing. Her lips barely open. Also Kissing Me grates on my nerves to begin with but I can’t STAND those ridiculous lollipops. It just screams lolita porn, I swear.

I hope there’s no backlash because I think you approached the topic pretty fairly.
It’s easy for people just to say “I hate so and so…” just because but at least you put out the bad AND good and let that explain your opinion.
Maybe it’s because I’ve seen so much crap bashing on various sites/forums that it’s nice to see someone say something without an overload of sarcasm.
Of course I like to get my dose of snarky comments everyday but sometimes straight-up posting is refreshing.

I don’t really know SNSD very well.. or Wonder Girls. Ahh I have to say, they’re names really put me off though..
“Girls Generation”???
“Wonder Girls”!?!?
Gahh if you want people to take you seriously as real ‘artists’, maybe the first step is to have a good name?
But- I really don’t particularly like Wonder Girls and SNSD songs…. they’re all too ‘cutesy’ and too ‘poppy’… or maybe I’ve been listening to the wrong songs?
(btw, who is this So Hee? There seems to be a lot of hate going around directed to this girl… Is she that youngun who’s only 15 or something?)

So Hee is a girl that I don’t hate but I can’t for the life of me understand how she masquerades as a singer. She adorable but I don’t really find her being apart of Wonder Girls beneficial.
And I don’t think they want to be considered as true artists, especially since they don’t write any of their own music.

I thought that SnSD did better than WG.it’s really really clear..
From the vocal quality,dance perfm n also their energy.look so powerful.
But what WG did?they looked like haven’t no energy to sang.
N their dance…looked so lame..

I think everyone is seeing a different performance than me because SNSD were terrible. I mean I liked them performing this better than any of their own songs and I can’t believe HyoYeon actually danced WORSE than SoHee. I think Taeyeon sounded good but so does SunMi. The rest of em erg. Like that girl who did the SoHee “oma” part really sucked and didn’t have the charm of sohee(I personally dont like her but when she does it I actually find it adorable) Why the heck to they give the last line to Jessica? TaeYeon could have killed. Jessica (like always) just cracked.
And wondergirls singing “Kissing You” almost made me despise them… That song is horrid no matter who sings it yet I still find wg more tolerable.

yes so hee doesn’t have great vocals but she has that enthusiasm on stage
it is damn hard to sing in front of so many ppl
snsd was good
but can they show some charisma
ugh it annoyed me cuz when they do their own songs they’re so goooood
and being a singer is not just about singing
and snsd was missing like 30% something
and I like sun mi doing her part much better than fany

I think being an Idol singer isn’t just about singing, actually it more about image than anything. But being a singer by profession is about singing and good music. Period.
I agree So Hee has enthusiasm but maybe she can parlay that into a different career.

Hearing Tell Me from SNSD is like a god send, because Tell Me is a very catchy song. However Sohee’s voice is a problem for me, even in the studio version and especially in live performances. I might just be a Wonderful if it wasn’t for her voice(I <3 Ye Eun). Sometimes I wonder what in the world the Wonderfuls are smoking because it has got to be damn good for them to be able to enjoy Sohee’s singing. I might just cry because of the direction k-pop is going these days.

I’m a Wonder Girls fan, and I’ll say that they are vocally talented. But for some reason, when I was watching them dance to the song, it just didn’t feel right.
They weren’t as flexible as supposed to be when dancing to the song.
I must say this, So Hee is the Queen of “Omoana’s”
The SNSD “Omoana’s” had like no cute or facial expression.
And that Yoobin (Rapper) of the Wonder Girls ownz that rap!
No one can rap like Yubi. ^^
I just wished SNSD did the whole dance break together, instead of just one person like the WG’s do. Then that would show just how well the girls are with choreography.
WGs win for best Choreography.
SNSD wins for best Vocals.
It’s a win-win situation.

ahh.. JPY said himself that TELL ME was not supposed 2 be sung with great vocals, it would ruin the song
so it’s not that WG wanted 2 sing it in a cute way, they were forced! (changing your own voice 2 be high pitched is not easy)
not that snsd didn’t do a good job though, they were always great dancers+energetic
and.. lol, WG always perform stages like this >>> VERY CASUAL & FUNNY
they don’t try 2 do a perfect perf (forgetting their own dance moves and lines once a while^^) but i never really cared cause just having fun and being happy on stage is good enough 4 me
PS i have 2 say this. 4 example, while a NOBODY perf, one of ye eun’s shoe somehow fell off and i was laughing so hard! it was so funny! and the other members were also looking at the high-heels and laughing!! BEST PERF EVER!!! LOL

I was never into “Tell me” until I heard SNSD sing it! They did way better than WG! WG can barely sing their songs in tune!
