This is Not Entertainment

Who needs paparazzi when your fans will stalk you?

That’s Dong Bang Shin Ki’s Jae Joong. This is mildly horrifying. All these young girls literally on his heels with cameras in his face. I feel so bad for him.

I hate when people say, “well, that’s the price they pay.” I completely disagree. Singing or acting or anything in the entertainment business is a JOB and it shouldn’t entitle being stalked, harassed or having your privacy breached.

    Ummm…. 0.o

( I’ve said this before, and I’ll say it again. Where Are The Parents?!?! Do they just let their children do this? Stalking and such? Are they even aware of their childrens’ disturbingly obsessive behaviors? )

Leave the boys alone, darn it!

Man…We need to put those psycho-stalker fans to work. Make ‘em stalk executive CEOs who commit fraud or the presidents of those darn money-grubbing, enviroment-ignoring companies. THAT would be putting their scary and disturbing harassing behaviors to good use. What they’re doing now, stalking celebrities and whatnot, is such a waste of youthful energy.

haha “waste of youthful energy” is right. These girls are SO close to him it’s ridiculous. I bumped into Leonardo Dicaprio in the city and these two grown women were about 2 seconds away from doing this same thing to him. He must have caught them staring because he started walking down the street with his posse. Leo is the grown woman’s DBSK? haha

Omigod, this is a really unhealthy habit.

These girls are being ridiculously invasive, and it’s a tad more than midly horrifying (for me, at least). This is exactly why I stay the HELL away from fancams on Youtube; even watching them makes me ridiculously uneasy and uncomfortable.

I hate when people say, “well, that’s the price they pay.”

I completely agree. Being a celebrity or an entertainer is like any other job (with better perks, of course), and they really don’t ask for this when they sign their contracts. Of course, they’re most likely aware of the breaches in privacy and the overall harrassment they’ll be facing, but honestly, the least you could do as a fan is to give them so fecking space.

I’m totally working myself into a snit right now, but honestly, these kids need to get a hold of themselves and back the fuck off.

Too bad nothing anyone says will ever change the behavior of these fans… :/

  5. MJ Says:

…if there was a law, I bet they’d change their behavior real quick!

Or if the darn industry itself had the courage and the overall decency to confront the over-zealous fans about their behaviour, then we might be getting somewhere.

Yes, the boys have spoken about the fans’ disturbing behaviour before, but always in that polite, ‘we’re not really angry’ kind of tone. Is SM Entertainment and all other companies so afraid of the fans? So fearful of losing even one ounce of revenue that they simply refuse to put their foot down and stop this madness?

Call me a hopeless optimist, but I honestly believe the fans’ behaviours can change. But for that to happen, the artist will need to get a backbone, and the companies will need to obtain some cojones. And if the fans were real fans, they’d appreciate the honesty and be concerned about the boys, instead of being incensed or offended when - or what seems to be more likely, if - the music industry ever gets the gull to stand up for its artists.

…Watching this video again…is anyone else chilled by how absolutely calm Jaejoong seems to be throughout the whole thing? O.o”

O_o aren’t these girls suppose to be at school? where the heck’s his bodyguards? way to fail the one your suppose to be protecting!

@ MJ - I was wondering the same thing, why is he so calm about it? he didn’t even try to run from them? O_o from what I can see there’s only a few girls but still he’s on his cell phone for crying out loud! Guess he’s to nice to get mad at them & tell them to stop following so closely since he’s on the phone.

I do hope that someday record labels put their artist safety first before money … sure they hire body guards for them & all but actually talk to the fans & make it clear that it’s a disturbing behavior, & poses a threat to not on the fans but the artist too.

I saw this video over at the LJ comm for DBSG and I didn’t even bother with any of the comments on that post because people were condemning this behavior and then ASKING WHERE THERE WERE MORE PRIVATE PICTURES THEY COULD VIEW. People are so hypocritical that it amazes me.

My point of view with this is that I will NEVER do what these fans do when their idols are around and I do think it is freakish, unhealthy behavior, but it’s not going to stop me from looking at the pictures. I just don’t think it’s my place to trash all these girls who are taking the pictures if I’m gonna be perpetuating the demand for these kind of fan pics anyway because that’s where the majority of my pictures of them come from. I think it’s just ridiculous that people have the gall to be like “God! This is so bad! Bad fangirls! Wait, where can I find more pictures of Yunho with his dog??? Taken in the privacy of the dog center????????? WHERE???”

  8. illdielaughing Says:

That hypocrisy is ridiculous. I haven’t seen there dog visit videos so i had no idea that it was stalkercam footage.
But I think of the stalkercams I’ve seen I think this is the most shocking for me. At least in other ones the fans find a nice bush to hide behind. These girls, though, just seem to dehumanize him, as if he’s not even a real person, as if he’s a walking work of art or something (still under investigation). But in all seriousness I don’t think they regard him as a human being, there has to be some kind of disconnect to be able to do this.
