“That Ain’t Cool” Fergie Feat. Koda Kumi MV

Posted in Music, Tokyo with tags , on May 31, 2008 by illdielaughing

Eh, whateva…

Koda Kumi looks hot with the short black cut and Fergie, as usual, looks pretty but the plastic surgery is distracting. Koda Kumi singing in this song is pretty much laughable. As much as I love her I really think she can do so much better than what she does here (think LAST ANGEL). Her English is adorable though.

The video is borderline sexploitation. It consists of Koda and Fergie stroking each other back to back as the camera spins around them, Fergie in a full body spandex suit doing yoga on a table and them pulling some guys hair as they straddle him.

The song is not that great but it suffices as a single because of the beat. What do you think of That Ain’t Cool?

The video was directed by Fatima Robinson, who also directed The Black Eyed Peas’ My Humps and Hey Mama, as well as Fergie’s Fergalicious

Tae Yang on Music Core

Posted in Music, Seoul with tags on May 31, 2008 by illdielaughing

In terms of the short performance of Prayer, I really wasn’t enjoying it.

It’s mostly because he’s singing live and dancing, which is a feat but when you think about it, it’s not impossible to sound good while dancing. I mean, most of us have gone to a Broadway show, right? If they can do it, so can Tae Yang. Besides the not so hot singing, I am really not enjoying the Tae Yang chest pump that accompanies Prayer

On to the next song, Look Only at Me. I liked this a lot better. The live singing was better in this one and the dancing was less intense. Tae Yang danced with about 5 different women which is rather entertaining for some reason. Over all, the performance was alright, we all know Tae Yang can sing well live, but today wasn’t quite his day.

In related news, apparently Tae Yang still doesn’t have/hasn’t had a girlfriend. He should really get some.

Wonder Girls Come Back SO HOT on Music Core

Posted in Music, Seoul with tags on May 31, 2008 by illdielaughing

Solid performance, I would be disappointed if it wasn’t because this song is not demanding vocally at all. They sounded even less like they were singing in this performance though, even Sun Ye didn’t sound like anything, So Hee as usual was off but I was expecting to hear them try to attempt a note. Yoo Bin had to lipsych her rap because of “vocal strain”, I’m wondering how that could have possibly happened, it couldn’t have been related to recording this song.

Anyway, catchy song. I’m so happy I don’t know enough Korean to have this song stuck in my head.

XIAH JUNSU, WHERE’S YOUR SHIRT????

AND FAN GIRLS EVERYWHERE ARE DYING FROM ECSTASY.

 xwinax

The Entire Performance

Is it just me or is Junsu awkward with women? Well, to be fair it is some random back up dancer and not Tae Yeon (whoops…) Just kidding, just kidding -_-;
A link to another full performance, in this one you actually see when he throws his shirt off into the distance. http://www.veoh.com/videos/v14075541yQPfwGrA

Junsu without a shirt at the Shanghai “O” concert tonight/today/TIME DIFFERENCE. Junsu is kind of scrawny but I think the reason why this is so sexy is because of his face. I wonder what’s going through his head. (And he’s wet 0.o ) A little side note, his parents were in the audience. I think they had my initial reaction, discomfort and laughter. But now I’m kind of in the giggly, “I saw Xiah’s pecs” phase. We’ll see how long that lasts. Anyway…

So that’s two Dong Bang boys down, still waiting for Chun, Changmin and Jae Joong. I’ll pass on Jae Joong but Changmin, if you could be the next to reveal your abs…. that would be great. Though I doubt that Changmin would ever expose himself like that. He did have his shirt open during a photo shoot once but I think Changmin is the last member to completely rip off his shirt in a dancing fervor.

He might have the best back up dancers ever. Haha, they are dying from his shirtless-ness.

And here are some of the comments left on a Korean website. You don’t even have to know what it says to understand how they feel.

This is pretty much the funniest thing ever. I think it’s a mix of shock, slight discomfort and gratitude for most fans.

What do you think of the latest DBSK member going topless?

DBSK Releases “Beautiful You” in Korea

Posted in Music, Seoul with tags on May 30, 2008 by illdielaughing

Of all the Japanese singles to release in Korea they choose the most boring one.

Of course it is the most popular, getting them onto the Oricon Weekly at #1 twice. But seriously, as much as I fan girl over Junsu’s lines I find it the must uninventive single they’ve released of late. They’re also releasing a remix of the song CLAP! …Another not so great song. But they will do well because Korean fans are just pining to have their Dong Bang boys back.

Ki Bum Still Left Out of the Little SuJu Clubs… AGAIN

Posted in Music, Seoul with tags on May 30, 2008 by illdielaughing

Super Junior has yet another sub-group called Super Junior Happy. Frankly, I think Super Junior having 13 members is dumb, and I think sub groups are dumb (but I do reccommend them for SNSD!). And futher more I think Super Junior Happy sounds like the most idiotic thing ever.

I might have liked this group if Ki Bum and Kyu Hyun were in it instead of Kangin and Ye Sung, partially because I love Ki Bum, partially because I can’t stand Kangin anymore and partially because I feel bad that Ki Bum has never been in a subgroup. But something tells me that he might finally end his life if that were to happen to him (Kidding, Kidding -_-; )

But besides the lack of Ki Bum and Kyu Hyun, theres the adorable Shin Dong, adorable Eun Hyuk, Lee Teuk (who looks eternally confused and battered), Ye Sung (??), Sung Min (…) and Kangin (>.<). Their first single is called Cooking? Cooking! (as if they couldn’t make a decision or weren’t quite sure). The single will be released in June.

Who’s looking forward to Super Junior Happy?

Around the Town

Mariah Carey was at the Tokyo Dome today to throw the first pitch before the baseball game between the Yomiuri Giants and the Rakuten Eagles.

In case you didn’t know, she married Nick Cannon a couple of weeks ago. I laughed forever, in fact I’m still laughing. I’m laughing so much I hardly have time to feel bad about laughing….I also laugh at Mariah Carey for refusing to where flats. In a couple of decades she is not going to be able to walk…. And I will still be laughing. I only stop laughing when I listen to her sing (the early stuff, not the “Touch my Body” nonsense).

Haha.

Many Singing for Relief in China Quake

Lots of Hallyu stars are banding together and singing to raise money and show their support for the quake victims.

DBSK will be performing at Hongkou Soccer Stadium in Shanghai for the 2008 Shanghai concert on May 31st.

Jackie Chan, whose been all over the Hallyu wave lately, has banded together with JYP to produce a super song with tons of stars (think Michael Jackson’s We are the World). Alex and Horan of Clazziquai (!), Wonder Girls, Chae Yeon, Battle, Brown Eyed Girls, Joo and many other artists were involved in the recording for the song I Love Asia. There are also random-ass “actors” involved in this project like Kim Ah Joong, Park Yong Ha (who can actually act rather well) and Jeong Hye Bin. Most of the actors on the list are people who were singers first like Park Yong Ha and Jeon Hye Bin or people that should just stick to singing, like Kim Ah Joong.

As much as I appreciate what all these artists are doing I know quite a few of them are in it for the publicity or are forced to do it by JYP (Joo, Wonder Girls etc.) But at the end of the day, it doesn’t matter why they’re doing it, all that matters is the people that are helped.

SHINee Sounding Scripted

Posted in Seoul with tags on May 29, 2008 by illdielaughing

From Allkpop.com, SHINee talking about getting into SM:

Tae Min (youngest 14): ”I started dancing since 3rd grade. I always loved to dance and when I heard that SM Entertainment was holding auditions, I rushed to go try out. I was lucky and got casted. Even now, whenever I have time, I’m always watching dance videos to learn new moves.”

Ohn Yoo (leader): ”As soon as I entered high school, I felt that I really wanted to sing, I fell in love with music. People around me also kept telling me that I sing pretty well, so I decided that I wanted to become a singer and enlisted in the SM Academy. From there, I was casted and am now a part of SHINee.”

Key: ”When I was in Kindergarten, I chose “singer” as my future dream occupation. When SM Entertainment held auditions, I tried out.”

Min Ho: ”I was road casted by chance. Even as a child, I always loved preforming for others, so when I was casted by luck, I was extremely happy.”

Jong Hyun: ”Ever since middle school, I was actively involved in various bands and performed at many competitions to further my skills. Luckily, at one of the competitions, an SM Entertainment representative was watching and I got casted.”

The SHINee members also stated, “When we first met and were under training, we didn’t really talk much to each other. We were all very young and we even got into a couple fights with each other, but we think that’s pretty normal for all trainees.”

BORING… SHINee, be more interesting, please. I beg of you. EVERYONE, says stuff like this when they first debut. And no one really cares. *Sigh* If I’m going to give in and actually like you, SHINee, you’re going to have to not sound like robots. Is it just me or are all SM artists really scripted until they hit it big? (And even then…)

My Love-Hate Relationship with “Goong”

Posted in Seoul, TV with tags on May 28, 2008 by illdielaughing

This show is really pissing me off. I pretty much hate all of the main characters. Yool is an annoying and selfish brat that can’t take a hint. Shin is a selfish and dysfunctional dumbass when it comes to relationships. Chae-Kyung is an idiot that does not know the difference between what’s appropriate and what is not. And Hyo-Rin, who has redeemed herself by leaving the country and giving up Shin, was really pissing me off until episode 20. Shin’s mother is so boring it’s sad. Yool’s mother is a selfish, crazy ho who knows no reason. The King is incapable of doing anything right. Chae Kyung’s friends are annoying and just as bad as the citizens that talk shit about her (with the exeption of the girl with the glasses). Shin’s friends suck just as hard. The only people I like in this show is the Great Queen Mother and Shin’s sister because they’re the only ones that make any sense. Oh, and there’s also Chae-Kyung’s family who I tend to like more than I like Chae-Kyung.

Now, on the other hand. Read more »
