Wei Lai and DBSK
So, I’m sure most people surfing around the DBSK message boards heard about a Chinese girl in a coma, Wei Lai, waking up suddenly after seven months.
Her mother knew how much she loved DBSK and Xiah Junsu so she played there music non-stop. When she woke up her mother said it was because of DBSK’s music. You can see it all in the video. I didn’t pay much attention to this when I first saw this but it’s pretty amazing. I really don’t think that DBSK’s voices literally brought this girl back but mostly her attachment to the songs must have been the main reason–the love of a fan. There are some ways that I know of that help people get out of a coma, one that I find the most interesting is the one in which a machine sends signals to the brain for it to wake up thousands of times a day non-stop. They say people can hear you when your in a coma so I figure listening to DBSK’s music was like that for her.
But I wouldn’t want to discredit her family as her mother was with her the whole time. It must have been hard hearing the doctors say that her daughter would not live three days. Personally, I believe when it comes to these things anything is possible. An aunt of mine got Hepatitis C from a tattoo needle about a decade and a half ago. The doctors told her that she wouldn’t live to 28, she’s now 35, they also told her that she couldn’t get pregnant but she did.
In the end I find this to be an amazing story, but I do feel like the involvement of DBSK is being taken to a bit of an extreme and it’s kind of tiring to hear so many people say that the Dong Bang boys are miracle workers. I know a lot of people are going to hate me for saying this, especially considering the number of people that cried at the video, but I honestly think that this girl would have woken up without DBSK. To give so much credit to them kind of bothers me because I feel like her family and the doctors that cared for her get ignored while DBSK get worshiped even more. {Sidenote: I really shouldn’t say this about a girl who recently got out of a coma but getting a “TVfXQ, Junsoo, Future” tattoo is like getting a tattoo of your boyfriends name. Just not okay….}
Anyway, Wei Lai is going to Dong Bang Shin Ki’s concert, I really hope she gets the chance to meet them. They must have heard about her story already.

I’d say…whatever floats her boat
Everyone is happy in the end so I think it’s all just as well.
I think it is over the top calling them “miracle workers” but so far, no harm done ^_^

Yeah no harm done.
But if we’re speaking logically, I completely agree with you; it does seem to be a case of idolism.

Oh yeah of course, no harm done, it’s all good in the end and I think it’s great that she is so happy after her accident and she seems to be able to make a close to full recovery.
It’s just the reaction that bothers me, it’s kind of how I feel about media reaction to certain things. Misconstrued and exaggerated, sometimes.

Yeh I think it’s a little bit exagerated too. DBSK are truly amazing but to this point.. I dont think so. Dont misunderstand me. I’m a really really faithful and big fan of them.

I hope they wont start calling them this way.. because they will feel uncomfortable and.. i forgot the word.. but yeh you understand me.. It will kind of put pressure on them or wtv..
Anyways, I’m glad she’s getting better and I hope she’ll meet them, thing i cannot do.

I agree with you.. It kinda annoys me that DBSK gets so much credit…
I don’t have anything against DBSK (hey, i even listen to them) but hearing my friend whose addicted to them continuously blab about this incident is just..
Now i’m wondering if her mother would have played different music would she have woken up?
