Giordana Completely Steals from the “I am African” Campaign
So… What am I talking about? Well, if you walked around the city a few months ago you would see posters like these:
The “I AM AFRICAN” campaign was a way to help keep children alive who were suffering from or affected by the AIDS epidemic. A great cause and, in my humble opinion, a great campaign concept.
Now moving on to Giordano. They used Jang Dong Gun (for the millionth time) and Jung Ryu Won for there spring ad campaign. And what did they do? What was their concept? Um,*cough* well that is COMPLETELY bit off of the “I AM AFRICAN” campaign.
Wow, this is COMPLETELY unoriginal. I understand being influenced by something else but it is obvious that Giordano knows they’re stealing from the “I AM AFRICAN” campaign and doesn’t care. I’d have to say this is Giordano’s most unfortunate ad campaign that I’ve seen so far. The pictures are nice but the face paint makes no sense in the context of clothing and…they stole their campaign idea. Gah, how frustrating. I saw this over at Popseoul! and they apparently didn’t realize that this was just a complete rip-off, they squealed about feeling “spring-y inside”.
. . .
Seriously.
On another note. I love Jang Dong Gun, and I like Jung Ryu Won and besides the plagiarism I do like the ad campaign. But that’s probably because I loved the “I AM AFRICAN” campaign. When you think about it though, the AFRICAN campaign is so much more deep and important than any ad campaign Giordano will ever do. So to steal from them is kinda… stupid. It’s so frustrating that most of the Korean population will have no idea that this idea is completely unoriginal. This must be how some Japanese feel about the numerous American’s that have no idea that The Ring is a remake.

candychu, thanks for sharing and proving thus blogger’s point?? also, I can’t believe they did that… it’s so ridiculous, I’m getting upset.. It’s worse than the LiveStrong bracelet rip-off. it’s ridiculous how people are oblivious to what’s going on around them… So, really? The ring was a re-make…. (haha jk)

Crap, they’re straight off plagiarizing. Not even trying. That is just shameful. It’s bad to plagiarize because it is stealing, but it’s even worse for the fact that it is so unoriginal. I question any company that would do that.

I WAS JUST GONNA POST ABOUT THIS. But then I decided, whatever. Did you know Yashimmanman is a copy of a Chinese talk show?

I think I found that out while watching a Korean variety show… or maybe I was clicking random things on crunchyroll and a chines version of ysmm popped up.
Either way, yeah I knew. Quite a few of Korean variety shows are from China and Japan actually.
Jihwaza AKA Jong Shin Tong Il for example is a complete rip of a Japanese variety show.
But concerning the “I AM AFRICAN” thing. I can’t believe that they actually so blatantly stole the idea. It’s at the point where I’m thinking that maybe they are giving them props or something? Because painting Jang Dong gun and Jung Ryu Won’s faces has nothing at all to do with clothing.

the rip off is so BLATANT
the title at the bottom and everything… tsk tsk

I didn’t know that is was plagiarized. How lousy and…..unethical.
P.S. I didn’t know Korean variety shows were copied that often also….I guess it’s because I don’t watch the other Asian countries’ shows…
