Koda Kumi, you shouldn’t have had to apology in the first place. . .
So everyone knows about Koda Kumi’s silly comment about women’s fluids after they turn 35, right? Well, there was an uproar with so many people upset at her “insensitivity”. Oh God, do these people really have nothing else to care about except some innocent scientifically accurate comment a singer makes? I thought it wouldn’t end up being anything when I heard about it so I never posted. I really didn’t find it that interesting or important. But the fact that she had to give a tearful apology was just ridiculous. So much so that I just had to rant about how ridiculous it is.
From Tokyograph:
On Thursday, Kumi Koda appeared in an exclusive interview on Fuji TV’s “FNN Super News” to apologize for a remark she made on “All Night Nippon” last week. She had stated that “when women turn 35, their amniotic fluid goes rotten,” leading to many angry reactions from the public.
It’s like the people reacting negatively to this feel as if Koda spilled the beans about something. “Oh no! The world will know about my amniotic fluid! Damn you Koda Kumi!” Give it a rest.
Not everyone was convinced, however. An informal poll taken after the broadcast through Sankei Sports’ website indicated that 81% of the viewers felt the apology was insufficient, while only 9% said it was enough. Fuji TV later announced that by midnight on Thursday, it had received almost 300 phone calls about the broadcast. About a third of them carried heavy criticism, such as saying that Koda’s apology felt insincere. Only 9 of the callers defended the singer.
People actually called to complain… That’s just another level of sad states of minds. Couldn’t they just quietly simmer in their unneccesaary anger? To waste so many people’s time is just ridiculous. I think it’s even silly that 9 people just called to say they were happy with her apology. Who cares? Go eat some food and get drunk instead of hanging on every word that she says. I just can’t imagine that so many people have so little to do. I’m thinking that it has to be sad housewives with no children or grown children that actually have nothing better to do or think about.
Koda Kumi shouldn’t be crying because she is still number one on Oricon. She really should be having the last laugh.
Anyway, this is just another sad example of how the world is obsessed, in a rather depressing way, with celebrity. As Tears for Fears would say, “It’s a very very Mad World”.

i <3 you. hahahaha i totally think she has nothing to apologize about. and i bet she doesnt really care either. because i HATE HATE HATE HATE how superstars and singers and actors have to be politically correct. like…they have to say the right things, they have to do the right things to make people like them and its so FAKE. so hearing koda saying that is showing me that she can joke around and that she is human. but making her say sorry and suspending her avex stuff is just too much. but yeah, i agree with you

Mmh… I didn’t see in that way: people with a lot of time to waste… Yup, in another website or forum, I don’t remember, they say that media was the truly interested in this incident, more than people on streets… maybe a way to give her more popularity? I don’t think that Kumi feels that’s the way to get attention, but avex maybe… Who knows… Anyway, I agree with you, I’m still a loyal fan of Kumi ^^ hehehe….

yea, omg. some people take things to heart waaaay too often. I’m sure there were more indifferent people to the matter than pissed off ones though. It’s just that the majority was smarter not to call for lack of importance and waste of fuckin time. haha. Kudos to those 9 callers who defended Kumi tho. WEST SIIIIEEEEEDEEEEE. (haha jk on the last bit)

That annoys me so much that people are causing such a stir over it. Not to mention, she was only fooling around when she made the comment. She even gave a laugh at the end of the sentence. She was asked about her manager having kids and she said she hopes that her manager as kids before 35 because ::repeat line::. People need to worry more about their own lives than Kuu’s. -_-”

People make mistakes all the time, and she was just careless about that one little scientific fact. I seriously don’t see why everyone in Japan is so hard on her.

she just made a joke…
oohh poor kumi hope she will be soon as possible on stage…
and sing for us

*nod nod* I agree with everyone, give Ku-chan a break (hungry media and people with no lives)! Just because she’s a celebrity, media puts her in the spotlight. Celebrities’ lives are already on the display. If we dish about their every comment, then that leaves no room for more important matters. Anyway, I’m a loyal fan, I support Ku 100%. avex please re-instate her current status.

I still think that it’s very insensitive of her, and extremely rude.

This whole thing is stupid. The public should care about more important things instead of some silly comments. Honestly, I don’t know what she means by the “amniotic fluid” going “rotten”, but I do know for a fact that it is much riskier carrying a baby after 35. Not that you can’t do it (plenty of women have babies in their late 30’s and 40’s) but that’s still a well-known fact.
She shouldn’t have to go through all this because of what she said.

Well, i think public should care about others, if you were a woman over 35 desesperate trying to have a baby, you will be hurt… anyway She looks vulgar, arrogant, a pale copy of Hamasaki and is hurting people over 35… for me …lame

what koda kumi said is true generally. can’t ignore the medical facts because she’s not a doctor. people having trouble having a baby is hardly the fault of koda kumi. ever considered adoption? saying people should care about others, then calling koda kumi vulgar and arrogant is just for me…lame
