Lee Hyori
I like Lee Hyori for not being anorexic and being comfortable with herself and blah blah blah but as a singer… well… I know before I may have seemed harsh when I posted about her not paying taxes for a year but I’ve been thinking…

After watching this MV and listening to the song I realize that Lee Hyori is kind of like a Korean Jennifer Lopez or Britney Spears. Not so great vocals but with a healthy, dancer image. (Even though J.Lo and B.Spears are much better dancers than Hyori.) 10 Minutes, which was a huge hit when it came out in Korea is the kind of song I would have listened to in middle school. It’s remotely catchy with predictable harmonies and melodies. I thought it was absolutely ridiculous that Lee Hyori made so much money. But my Korean friend, who I agree with almost always when it comes to music and entertainment said, “But I think she’s worth it”. WTF? I was like, whatever… but then I started thinking about artists like Madonna and Britney Spears. Madonna’s voice is not extroardinary but her image and what she had the guts to sing about is what made her so popular. And B.Spears, in the “good” years, was all image, even her ballads were badly sung but she had that poppy beat that young girls really liked. Madonna, who is the highest earning female entertainer in the world, cannot sing like Celine Dion but she writes and produces songs that are like modern poetry and starting in the early nineties she was producing most of her tracks.
Lee Hyori is certainly no Madonna, she’s more like a Britney Spears circa 2004/”In the Zone” era. I’m one of those love-all-good-music types of people, any genre pop, rock, even country as long as the song itself is good. But I don’t credit Britney Spears when she releases relatively good music, it’s her producers who are the masterminds behind that. Like “Boys” (featuring N.E.R.D. and the Neptunes) and “Me Against the Music” are good songs, not for intellectual stimulation but for dancing and getting in the mood for something exciting. Lee Hyori has a similar career and style to Britney Spears, mostly image and not the best singers. I honestly used to think that Britney Spears could sing well, I just though she was restrainging her self for poppy songs but no no no,. I saw a live concert and was blown away by her complete lack of singing ability. Maybe Lee Hyori can sing? Maybe only sometimes…
Sweet song but the girl can not work a mic, the heavy breathing was killing me.
Basically, Lee Hyori can dance, and she’s a good performer. She doesn’t have as strong or impressive voice but that works for her. But I wouldn’t wast money on her CD or anything like that and her music is so generic that I wouldn’t download it either. I think she’s an example of being what was needed in the music industry at a particular moment. And that helped her succeed.

Hyori Lee is talented singer ,and comparing her with American ones is silly.In no way is Britney(Shitney) or Maddona are better at dancing than Hyori.

First of all, you obviously didn’t read the post properly. I didn’t say madonna was a better dancer i said britney and J.Lo were. I didn’t chastise Hyori for her sexy moves. I’m not trying to tell anyone to not like her. As I said, I like her image but as a singer she isn’t that impressive but AS I SAID IN MY POST it works for her. You are obviously taking it way too seriously.
Second of all, the tone of my post was in no way condescending to Lee Hyori fans, I was simply stating MY point of view. Please, think about what you’re saying and WHY. Don’t post pissy little comments like the ones above without fully understanding my post.
Lastly, though I don’t really like Beyonce she is an excellent singer and saying that she’s “only good for shaking her nasty ass” is ridiculous and saying such tells me that, obviously, you’re much more of a hater than I am.
So, in conclusion I think you are making yourself sound like a complete imbicile. Threatening someones life for not liking a singer? Wow, I hope you realize that you sound insane. Only completely insane people think in such a barabric and idiotic way.

ZEE YOURE FUCKIN STUPID, and “!!!!!!!!!!!!” youre a Skeez for being loony and bitchy. Sounds here like you have something against minorities? Why beyonce and JLO? when comparing the two to Hyori, I can obviously point out that Beyonce and JLO are both multi millionaires and have built a reputation, won several awards for performances in both movies AND music… ANNNNND try in no way to replicate Britney Spears’ style and adolescent wardrobe malfunction. youre fucking nuts dude. Although she is a nice performer and singer, Hyori is really not bringing anything we havent already seen to the table. what she is doing here has already been pulled off by Britney over a decade ago…………. If she is really trying to copy her style, then a decade from now, expect Hyori to be a drunk drug abusing mother of seven (5 of which no one is supposed to know about) with another baby on the way, several times out of rehab! God knows what Amy Winehouse has been up to. Not to mention, seeing the way Korea’s been behaving, Hyori will also most likely sport a sunken face due to excess plastic surgery!
