Park Joon Hyung is better that Rain? Let the Dragonball decide.

Maybe. He’s already signed on to do another Hollywood film before his first one has even gotten released. He and Rain, thanks to JYP, are in the anticipated Wachowski brothers film Speed Racer. My friend and I were recently discussing who would be more popular in the states. She said Park Joon Hyung and I said Rain, well, it looks like she was right. I thought that since Rain was younger and hotter he’d be doing well for himself but now I think his hyung may be stepping more into the spotlight. dragonball-navidad.jpgnote: this is not normal to the show but I just thought it was fitting for the Christmas season.  Anyway, Joon Park, his “American audience” name, will be in the Hollywood, live-action version of the manga and anime, Dragonball Z. Joon Park will be playing Yamcha. Also starring in this film will be Justin Chatwin (War of the Worlds), Chow Yun Fat (Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon), Emmy Rossum (Phantom of the Opera) and Eriko Tamura (Heroes). The movie will be simply called Dragonball, but in my opinion removing the “Z” will not make it any less ridiculous. (I was never a fan of the show, the innumerable rippling muscles just didn’t do it for me.)I think it slightly funny that the main character, Goku is played by Justin Chatwin, who, if you haven’t noticed, is not Japanese… or even Asian. Piccolo, the man bad guy of the series will be played by James Marsters, who played Spike in the series Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Piccolo is green… I just though I’d throw that out there.  Japanese opening of the show. So funny by way of being ridiculous. Stephen Chow is producing the film, which makes me happy because Stephen Chow’s movies are hilarious, yes they are slapstick but he is a genius in his own right. I’m not to excited about the director. He directed Jet Li’s The One and Final Destination as well as the bad sequel that was Final Destination 3. Alot of the movie’s filming will be done in Mexico, specifically Mexico City and Durango.  The movie will be released on August 15, 2008. Joon Park is undoubtedly going to make waves. He is going to be in two Hollywood blockbusters within months of each other. Congrats to him, I don’t know if he can act, but if he can, I wish him luck in conquering the American market.

  1. [...] on for another Hollywood movie but no one knows which one… I doubt he’s taking his hyung’s Dragon Ball Z route but I’m interested in seeing what his movie will be about. I shouldn’t really call it [...]

  2. Stephen Chow’s not producing this movie, he’s not even involved because Fox won’t accept any of his ideas, and they’re just keeping him on the list as a bait for fans.
