Paris in Seoul
Ugh…
Paris had a party (of course) in Seoul and she looked the way she always looks at parties…like a really bad dancer and a bit tipsy.
This is the image of the western woman… How embarassing.

What bothers me, as I mentioned before, is that Paris Hilton hasn’t done anything. She is a socialite. Period. But this is the theme in advertising in the world. You have people like Kate Moss who was plastered all over tabloids snorting cocaine and, outside of a slap on the wrist and a brief break from her campaigns, she was fine. Paris Hilton and all her DUI’s and mugshots and she’s still being praised for…what exactly? Then there’s Tom Cruise; basically the image of citizen excellence but once he starts talking about scientology and medication and what not he is attacked. God forbid someone disagree with you, but it’s alright if they are everything you don’t want you’re children to be (i.e. a drunk driver or addicted to lethal drugs).
And what get’s me is that in Korea, where gambling is a cause for a celebrity to drop out of the limelight for a while (see: Shin Jung Hwan), Paris Hilton gets to represent an entire merchandise line. Aigoo…
To split hairs, there are a few people I like that have gotten pulled over for DUI but they are people who actually have jobs. Jae Joong of DBSk was also arrested last year for a DUI but he was released 20 minute later because his blood alcohol level was only .072%. (In the states the limit is .08% in Korea it’s .05%) Kiefer Sutherland recently got pulled over and his situation was much worse that Jae Joongs. I really like Jae Joong, he actually has a job, amazing singer. And Kiefer, I mean, who doesn’t love Jack Bauer? So I can understand why people would still respect and look up to them after an incident like that. But Paris Hilton? Come on…
