Do People who Can’t Dance, Know they Can’t Dance?

Posted in Music, Seoul with tags on October 25, 2007 by illdielaughing

Why would you give a dance solo to someone who can’t dance? Watch and you will see what I mean.

My Random Notes:
1. The only singer I like in the group is the girl who sings the first line of the second part of the chorus (after the second “tell me, tell me”). I think her name is Sun Ye
2. It’s so wierd to me for a group to have 18 and 19 year olds and then two 15 year old girls. It’s kind of annoying to see her pop up and smile like a tacky barbie doll. I think it may be my whole opposition to such young people in the music industry. I think 15 is too young to be put under all that pressure and it’s too young to be put on a pedestal.
3. The girl that raps is so pretty. I believe she is the replacement, Yoo Bin. But does she only rap?
4. Ahn So Hee, one of the 1992 girls: what does she do exactly? She can’t sing or dance. I’m confused, why pay her?

This MV is hilarious. What do you guys think?

All I know is that it’s certainly better than this:

Super Junior Fanatics Need Lives

Posted in WTF? with tags on October 25, 2007 by illdielaughing

I was so annoyed to read this on asianbite.com today.

super-junior-fans-protest-7.jpg

After Super Junior’s agent company SM Entertainment announced a plan for adding a new member (Henry) to Super Junior, fans immediately objected and formed a silent protest. At 4:00 PM on Wednesday afternoon (October 24th), over 270 high school and college students swarmed towards SM Entertainment’s building and formed a “Against Adding a New Member to Super Junior Joint Committee.”

Wearing surgical masks, holding signs that plastered “13″ all over the board, sitting in straight lines, they silently protested against the action. Some raised signs and said, “SJ ONLY 13″ and “SM what do you want?” and other similar words.

Uhm… Who the hell cares if Super Junior adds Henry to the group? Especially since he’s more talented than most of the boys in it anyway. I can’t even fathom that happening in the states. Wearing surgical masks? Um… hello? Where are you from? Go to school, do your homework do something besides obsessing over one of the silliest boy bands in South Korea. I am so utterly amazed that such idiocy can actually exist… I can’t imagine a parent concenting to their child go to a protest about something so mundane. I’m seriously in shock.

Alex of Clazziquai is Now a Thespian

Posted in Seoul, TV with tags on October 23, 2007 by illdielaughing

I as going to study for my midterms but…

200710231115471001_1.jpg

I just found out that Alex, from one of my favorite groups, Clazziquai, is starring in a new short romantic drama. This drama 연애의 발견 or Finding Love is also the sophmore role for Coffee Prince’s Han Ye In and it also stars, Choi Min Young and Yoon Ji Min.

The Drama is being described as a frank and realistic portrayal of love and how confusing it really is. Not black and white the way it is normaly seen in romanticized dramas.

I’m interested in seeing Alex’s acting chops and listening to his sexy voice… *sigh*. Anyway, the drama will air on MBC.

Yoon Eun Hye in NYC

Posted in NYC, Seoul with tags on October 23, 2007 by illdielaughing

WHAT?! I want to see her, but obviously that’s not happening. Anyway, she is vacationing in New York and maybe I’ll loiter around Korean town more than I do already.yooneunhye.jpegIn other news. Yoon Eun Hye has moved from Eight Peaks Entertainment–which she’s been having some trouble with–and moved to Kraze Entertainment. I think Kraze is a conglomerate because apparently they have their hands in the food business?- The’ve completed about 90% of the moving, and YEH has been given her own room (which is apprently not even heard of in other mgt companys^^) -Jade411 (asianfanatics.com)This is what I don’t understand about the entertainment industry in South Korea. Why would they pay for an established actress’ home or place to live? Anyway, I’ll write more on that later. It’s good to see Yoon Eun Hye somewhere besides Eight Peaks, since they seem to have a problem paying the people who work for them.I checked out the website for Kraze Entertainment. I was so excited to see that they offer an English option! But… then I saw this…kraze.pngOkay, just no. If you’re going to give an English option to try and look sophisticated, find someone that speaks English and ask them to translate your page, don’t run it through a translator. “Kraze Entertainment is up to reputation the Pan-Asian Entertainment contents hub.” What? I know there has to be some broke person in Korea who would translate a page for cheap. Come on people, get with it!

M Rising Entertainment

Posted in Music, Seoul with tags on October 23, 2007 by illdielaughing

Here we go again…

singer-m-rises.jpg

So singer Lee Min Woo, who also likes to pretend his name is M, has created an Entertainment company. By creating M Rising Entertainment, Lee Min Woo has joined the ranks of JYP (JYPE) and his copy-cat Rain (J. Tune Entertainment). Lee said that he wanted to be able to make the type of music he wanted and to produce new talent. Very admirable, I think it’s important for an artist to maintain their originality especially with so many entertainment companies mass-producing carbon-copy and–frankly–crappy music.

I’m interested in seeing what comes out of these singer’s fledgling entertainment companies. I’m hoping that with a new, younger generatin of producers, the music sensibility will be updated.

Now I have pictures thanks to asianbite.com. I think that deserves a “Woohoo!”

Andy from Shinhwa looking extremely serious. It’s kind of funny…he looks very militant, maybe that’s the point.

Crazy fans…

Posted in suckness with tags on October 21, 2007 by illdielaughing

So I was watching this radio show with DBSK on it and there was a section where they read the comments/questions from fans. One of the comments to Mickey Yoo Chun said, “I’ll always wait for you.I’ll wait for you with an unwavering heart. So don’t forget me. Promise.” CREEPY.
So strange… this reminds me of the woman who thinks she’s married to Kwon Sang Woo haha.

2:08 Micky reads the comment from his fan/wanna-be-wifey
The funniest part is that Micky seems unfazed. How strange though, that someone who doesn’t even know Micky asks her not to forget her… And Mickey says he’s thankful. Well, to be fair he couldn’t have said anything else but you know he must be creeped out.

Xiah Junsu’s voice is “Timeless”

Posted in Awesomeness, Music with tags , on October 21, 2007 by illdielaughing

This song came out like a year ago but I just fully listened to it. Damn, what a nice song. I promise I’ll try to actually post about things more up to date but this song gave me the chills (in a good way). Anyway, it’s a remake of the American song, Timeless. The original came out during the first season of American Idol and was sung by Justin Garini and Kelly Clarkson. The song was also in the movie, “From Justin to Kelly” and since no one saw that movie not alot of people heard the song.

I am just so in love with the Zhang Ri In and Xiah Junsu duet, Timeless. If you haven’t heard it, here’s your chance. The song is beautiful in everyway, both singers are so amazing and they go so well together. The song reminds me of something Christina Aguilera would sing. There are so many versions of the song. There’s the original and then the Korean version and Chinese version sung by Xiah Junsu and Zhang Ri In.’

This is the MV part 1

MV part 2

The MV’s are good too. Whew, hand me the kleenex.

Hana Yori Dango Final

What an inventive title…
a6135-20.jpg

The popular series Hana Yori Dango(2005) and Hana Yori Dango 2(2007), will come to a close in Hana Yori Dango Final. I started watching Hana Yori Dango, the first one, and I liked it and watched it until the fifth episode and then I became bored for some inexplicable reason and never finished it. I think it may be that Jun Matsumoto was getting on my nerves. Anyway, my friend promises that the second season is so much better except for one moment where they completely mischarictorize New Yorkers and stereotyped black people. I find it hilarious that whenever a drama wants to show that they are not in Asia they throw a Black person in the background. i.e.
I digress…

Hana Yori Dango Final will be out next year. Jun Matsumoto, Shun Oguri, Shota Matsuda, and Tsuyoshi Abe will reprise their roles as the F4.

The film is set one year after Tsukushi Makino’s graduation. The story focuses on a major incident that the five main characters become involved in, while also depicting the ups and downs of Tsukushi and Tsukasa’s relationship.

Filming is scheduled to take place overseas for about two months, starting in January. The series’ director Yasuharu Ishii will helm the picture. The story is currently being developed by the original mangaka Yoko Kamio and the series’ screenwriter Mikio Satake (actor Takayuki Takuma).

Hmm, I hope this is good, I’ll actually watch it cause I should be in Japan when it comes out!
